Just returned last night from a 3 day Fall Color workshop with Dan Ballard (who I will be going with to New Zealand for a private workshop next April 2014). I took several hundred photos during 6 different location shoots in the Ridgway/Ouray area just north of the San Juan mountains. The colors there have not yet peaked..almost wish I could have stayed another week...but we had great light most of the time and it even snowed on Red Mountain Pass during our first session on Friday (Sept. 27). Dan also gave an amazing 2 hour tutorial on Adobe Lightroom at the end of the workshop that provided me a wonderful workflow to achieving brilliant colors in post processing as seen below. This was taken before sunrise on the "Dallas Divide" early Sunday morning. There were many photographers besides our group, lined up here for this shot (some were with a workshop led by Colorado Photographer 'laureate' John Fielder).
