I took this photo a couple of months ago in Estes Park (just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park). It will be part of the upcoming Louisville Art Association Annual Fall Member Show at the Louisville Recreation Center in Colorado November 9 - 12, 2016.
An AMAZING morning up on Davidson Mesa just a few miles west of my house here in Louisville, Colorado. This was taken as the full moon was setting over the mountains above Boulder as seen from the mesa.
A few weeks ago, I planned a pre-dawn drive to a nearby hill south of my house, in hopes of capturing a great winter sunrise. I was 'greeted' instead by thick fog (a rare event in Colorado) and decided to make the short trip anyway to see how soon the fog would move and dissipate. The above image was the result of the fog receding down into the valley below, revealing the hill top and the western foothills above Boulder.
At this evening's City Of Louisville Council Meeting, the winners in the annual 2015 LIFE IN LOUISVILLE Photography Contest were announced. My 'NEW YEAR MESA SUNRISE' (also featured in my 2016 Photo Calendar) was awarded 3rd Place in the NATURE category.
For the month of JULY, I have EIGHT photos on display on the north wall of the lobby area at the Louisville Recreation Center. They include images from New Zealand, the San Juan Mountains, the Coachella Valley, San Francisco and the city of Boulder Open Space.
